I don't know which country they import the bikes from, USA or Netherlands, but stock was dead.

He said not to look at the retail stock on the US website, the stock for retail differs a lot from dealers stock he said.
He also gave me a small discount on the SLR though, 5200$ with tax.

And thanks a lot. Hope I'll be using this thing for many years without a hiccup. I just can't believe how expensive bikes got. I'm 35 years old and when I was 13 bike shopping with my dad, I certainly don't remember bikes being this expensive. Even entry level bikes at the moment are not cheap.
Congrats on your new bike, it is a beauty.

Did you get the disc brake or rim brake model?

Also, what colour scheme did you get?

As I was reading the spec sheet of Trek's website, I was thinking that I agreed with you that there is nothing that needs replacing on that bike, something that is very rare these days.

So many bikes I like, I feel I would have to change something for sure.

Also I have heard many people say that the 600 series Carbon(and up) in your bike, is where one can really tell the difference that Carbon makes.
