Can I ride this?

I found a trek 730 multitrack that I want. But I don't know if it will fit. I'm 5'11 with a 31" inseam. He said the frame is a 53. What do you guys think?

edit: Ok guys the seller message me back and said the sticker says 23.5" and 53cm.

I'd say you are in the ballpark for it being the right size.

You will be more comfortable looking for 56 - 58cm bikes.

53cm fits somebody ~5'4"

This is a hybrid and has inch frame sizing like a MTB, with a sloping top tube. They were sold in 15-17-19-21-23-inch sizes. A "53cm" is actually going to be 21" or size large.

23.5"? Might be big for you.
I'm 6', inseam of 32", and a 22" is pushing it for me.

I don't know if the guy knows what he is talking about. He said he's 6'1 and it's a little small for him. I'm going to go ride it tonight. I was just trying to get an idea because it's an hour drive. I seen one on youtube and it was a 21" 53.5 cm. So the numbers he is giving me don't add up.

Yeah, 23.5" doesn't sound like a hybrid size anymore than 53cm. Go give it a test ride.

Just ride it and see if you like it. Bike frame sizes are basically to get you in the ballpark, every “large or 21 inch” bike brand has a different geometry. Some people that are 5’ 11” might be the same height, but they could have different leg and arm lengths.

I'm 5'10.5" with a 31" inseam. I ride a 19" (48cm) 720 MT that I bought from and was fit by LBC. 53cm is 21" though you'll have quite a bit of adjustment. Unless you have a high APE index, long arms, 53cm might be too stretched.

I went and rode it tonight and bought it. It is a 21" frame. It seems to be a pretty nice bike. I need to get it all set up for me. Thanks for everyone's input.

I got most of my stuff switched over from my old bike tonight. It is going to need new tires and new brake pads. I'm not sure I like the barends but other than that it's good to go. What do you guys think?
