Rearview mirror
Does anyone here use a rearview mirror and if so what kind would you recommend? I am looking at the wrist strap style as the roads I ride are not real smooth and I see a mirror on a stem bouncing around too much and also going out of set. I tried a search but did not find anything useful.
Thanks in advance, Frank.

I've used this type for a number of years. Enough joint friction to hold the set angle between rides, and bikes, but easy to adjust.

If you go with the one I posted, I only used the zip ties to find a good alignment on the helmet then cut some Velcro pieces. Much better in my opinion.

how will you keep your wrist from bouncing if you are holding the handle bars? I wear one on my safety glasses. basically helps me know when there is a break in the traffic so I can wipe sweat or take a drink. but also when a semi tractor trailer truck is approaching so I can bail to the sidewalk

OK, one more.
I use this, although I orient the mirror vertically instead of horizontally. Lets me see much farther back than any other mirror arrangement I've tried:

Yeah, it's called listening and turning your head. I even did this as an extra precaution when riding a motorcycle. Just don't spend too much time looking in a single direction and stop listening to music as you ride.

There are lane change and merge situations where turning one's head is problematic because it requires taking your eyes off of what's in front of you too long. In those situations, having a mirror enhances safety. I have one attached to my bar ends, and I might go many miles without using it once, but it is very useful when it's useful.
There's really no reason for you to snarkily assume that people don't know how to listen and swivel their heads. The OP didn't ask whether he/she needs a mirror.

I like a mirror to know when is a good time to take my glasses & mirror off to wipe my brow & also when is a good time to take a drink from my water bottle. I tend to wobble left when I drink. maybe I should see a doc for that ...
but in addition to a mirror, there are situations where I feel it is imperative to turn my head, for a good look, such as before merging or turning in traffic

Thanks all. I find I tend to drift if I look over my shoulder, as much as I still can, so a mirror would give me another layer of safety.
All of your input is much appreciated.
Frank.
