I rode a Bike Yesterday : It was an FX3 I believe a 2016 . The guy had installed Spank Spike 800 Riser Bars :

ANYONE ELSE USING RISER BARS Over Stem Riser?

I actually use the same bars w/ a 50mm rise AND a higher rise stem on my DS. However, I cut mine down to 700mm. I found them more comfortable when my arms weren't turned outward. Comfort may depend on your build. I set mine up higher and closer, because I have cervical vertebrae issues and reaching too far and low hurts my neck on longer rides.

The bars may offer more positions than a stem would due to its rotation. The bars are MSRP $80, so it's not too bad of an upgrade.

My friend put 5" riser bars on his Gary Fisher hybrid and loves it. We traded bikes for a little while and I have to say, It put my mountain bike to shame in every respect on the road.

I sold it soon after and bought a comfort bike, Huge improvement, But even then the Gary Fisher with the riser bars is still a better road bike.

Sometimes changes to a bike can work well, other times not. I tried making my comfort bike more like a road bike by lowering the bars and sliding the seat Back, But soon returned it back to the way it was. This bike works best at what it was designed for... comfort. And it does a good job at that .

Thanks Looks good Does it say what the Back sweep is ? I think this might be my solution : The Stock handlebars on My FX 3 are just to narrow : I have a Ritchey stem (Not installed that I bought to play around with) I had it on for awhile : But the narrow handlebars I think is what My Issue is : MY Verve 3 is way more comfortable : But I think the majority of that can be blamed on teh Narrow bars they put on the FX . Unfortunately, the Spank Spike site doesn't list the backsweep as in the specifications.

Why did you buy these compared to Other Bars : Obviously You more then likely aren't Mountain Biking :

It was the only set of bars that found with that much rise. The closest that I found other than that was 38mm (if memory serves).

I'm thinking for Myself width with 30mm Up rise is what I need : Standard bars are 15 mm and 660. I would gain at least an inch on both ends : I have 34 inch arms So rise isn't an issue . But width definitely is
