1999 Cannondale M300 SRB City/ Commuter
Just picked it up tonight, in MINT condition, came with a SKS frame pump, CATEYE Speedometer, Zefal water bottle cage, Performance Fanny Pack, Here is a link to the specs: https://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/B...+SRB&Type=bike

It is a 20" frame, and was not adjusted for me at the time of the picture. ( Perfect Fit Though )
Have to love Craigslist, just finished adjusting everthing but it is 12:45 AM LOL, Ready to take it for
a ride in the morning. Richard : )

Not really ! LOL But this one is in really MINT condition, High Gloss Black, specs. out nice for and older model. STX which is kind of like Deore. But this 1999 was the only year they listed it as a City/Commuter, and the MSRP jumped a 100.00 dollars or so. The 1998 was MTB and the 2000 MTB, ( last year in production I believe ). Think the first year may have been 1993 MTB also. The 1999 model might have been a test market on MTB's being good city/commuters, ( HYBRIDs ), could be fun to have a Thread going ( Interesting Facts on Hybrids ) just an ideal... But like they say in fishing ! ( This ones a keeper ) Richard : )

Not sure who Richard is... but wouldn't drop bars make it more of a hybrid and less of a MTB?

CL is a perfect place...I have a dillemma - $300 2002 Bad Boy with 4 wheels (MTB and road - disc brakes).
I have 4 bikes already and 1 of them 2009 Bad Boy...but no discs ...
Here is what I have:

300 is it a really good deal (?) ...can't say the condition based on one foto...

Are you Talking about the Bad Boy Ultra ? Link : https://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/B...ltra&Type=bike If it was in good shape, WOW ! I have had an Cannondale F-4 with that HEADSHOK , was awesome ! Bike was just to small for me though. And did some checking on having them them serviced could be an issue. Richard ( but with 4 other bikes ) any down time would be nothing..

Also, how many gears? If your intention is to bring it up to current specs (9 / 10) speed, it'll cost a fair bit.

I have seen an old one here that looked very cool with drop bars.

Project Sirrus

So, I'm finally able to post some (crap; sorry best I could do) pictures of my bike:

Started life as a stock 2010 Sirrus Comp. What's left of the original: frame/fork (excluding headset), wheelset, seatpost/stem/bars/bar ends. As it stands now:

Headset: Spec. Mindset Pro (to get rid of crap bearings in stock)
Drivetrain: SRAM: Double Tap 10spd shifters; Apex f/r derailleurs; Apex crank/bb (50/34); Rival cassette (12-32) and chain; Dura Ace cables.
Brakeset: TRP CX9ti; Avid SD7 levers; XTR cables.
Saddle: Spec Avatar
Grips: Ergon
Tires: Conti GP4000s (25c)
Pedals: Shim. XT
Weight: as you see it, inc. pedals, 19.4 lbs (Park scale at LBS)

Looks great (to me), rides smoothly; quick and light.
Probably replace the wheelset this spring, and maybe seatpost/bars, but that's about it.

I think it would be fair to say that I have enough experience shopping on CL, ( LOL ) and I stop at our LBS's ever time that chance allows me. So I do do stay pretty up to date, except on TREK stuff. I have only bought 2 of them, one was an MTB entry level that I really liked and have a few videos on, and the other I do not even remember the name. But it came with the Multi Trac Travel Trainer, both were like 45.00 dollars total, did a few repairs on the trek, seems like I had to fix both tires, ( flat ) adjust everything, took the rigid seat post off and put it on my TRAILWAYS, then rode it for a couple months before selling it for like 150.00 dollars. But that is why I never post on Trek treads, and especially the FX series, have no experience there at all. Now on the ( Bad Boy ) that was my dream Hybrid at one time, as long as he is referring to the ULTRA with the Super Fatty HEADSHOK, did my fair amount of research on it, and did find one on CL in mint condition for 800.00 dollars form the original owner in a large. This is just off the top of my head, not intended for buying information. But unless you were the original owner of the bike, you had to send that fork off for months to have fixed, at a huge price, shopped replacement ones, (and used working ones were like 300.00 dollars and never matched your bike ), and you could replace it with something like the Dart 3 forks, but that would change up the geometry a little bit, but would work, then almost all bike shops could service it. And did look into extra set of wheels with disk, and they were like 300.00 dollars starting off. Now back to his dilemma, ( 2002 Bad Boy with 4 wheels disk brakes ), 300.00 dollars. My original thought was the HEADSHOK ( busted ) and the bike is beat to death, or was stolen, but then how did they get the extra set of wheels, ( so ruled that out ), I would just drive over and look at it, ( so we are looking at it from different perspectives, me under priced, you over priced ), well my post is getting long winded.. Bottom line is Craigslist can be a great place to shop, and I have never mentioned ALL the gas and time that I wasted looking at junk deals, I generally can weed them out from experience, but they still slip past me. But for new cyclist I really recommend they stick with LBS shops, most people are looking for long term investments, at a good deal. And I shop for a hobby, and work on them, and love riding, etc.. And could tip people off on a way to decide if they would rather ride like a performance style Hybrid, comfort, or MTB without losing any money. but it involves Big Box Stores with a 90 day NO questions asked return policy, and knowing the few, well very few models even worth trying out. Maybe unethical but not illegal. LOL That could be another post, some other day ! Richard : )

Not if you are riding with the seat down like that, it doesn't. great pickup for 50 though

Haha... Nope, the seat's been moved up quite a bit and the Specialized feels so much better riding. Now switching some parts around so I can take the Specialized on a real ride.

When you say still needs a few adjustments, did you just pick it up ? The weather here is nasty also, and have the Cannondale M300 all ready to go, adjusted for me, CATEYE replaced battery and set it up correctly, nothing left to do but ride. Hurry up weather ! Richard : )
