If you want another try, I have Maxxis Detonator 32s and I like them a LOT. I actually haven't been able to find them in this size anywhere, but they came stock on my Seek 3. They're a dual compound tire so the centers are sturdy and the sides are sticky, which makes for great fun.

A trade off is they let you feel more road. They are not as soft as the fatter tires but that makes he bike more responsive and I like that. Panaracers are made by Panasonic, one of the most trusted manufacturers in the world. They are expensive and well crafted.

When I get enough money scrounged, I'm going to put full coverage fenders (black) on it, so I can ride errands while the roads are still wet, without getting "racing stripes" on my back.

Here are pictures of my gf's Giant Yukon. Working on hybridizing it. So far new tires, shifters, grips, all new cables and a seat bag. Getting fenders for it soon. Its getting expensive fixing two bikes at once.

When you just head off into the city at 8AM and don't have plans to be back before 8PM, that is exactly what you need. Will take the curbs but speedy enoughto go places. Can toss it on the buss and carry discoveries with you. A real explorers bike.

Here's a shot of my 2011 Giant Rapid 3 shortly after I bought it. As pictured, the upgrades are:
-Specialized grips
-Specialized seat
-Specialized H2O bottle holders
-Blackburn click lights
-Cateye computer
I have since added:
-Topeak Road Morph pump (mounted on left seat stay)
-FSA 0 offset seat post (with two-bolt pitch adjustment)
-Removed toe clips & straps because I bought clippless shoes
-Origin 8 drop-bar bar ends (soon to be added, haven't received them yet)
I bought it used from a guy who races bikes. He bought this one to ride with his wife who he was continually trying to get into cycling. He sold me this because he was going to by a new bike this year. Coming from a mountain bike converted for street use, this thing is fast and just what I needed. It had about 200 miles on it when I bought it, and it has just shy of 500 on it now. I had a slow first couple of months due to the weather, but now that it's warm, I've been really putting the miles on (73 last week, 61 the week before).

Awesome. Looks at home on an all-black modern hybrid.
