Some crazy wave action that top tube eh? wow. Nice to get a bike for Xmas. I wish Santa brought me a road bike for xmas, oh well. Anyway, I would ditch that suspension seat post (judging from what I've read people tell people with suspension seat posts in the past.)
The ...whatever it is...sticking out the back is intriguing, too!

2009 Trek 7100 Hybrid with Specialized Armadillos Nimbus. Great all around multi-purpose bike.

Just finished conversion on the hybrid yesterday. Now, solely dedicated to touring/commuting.
Old Handlebars
New Ones
Figured it changes the bike enough that it is worth the repost.

I was having knee problems after riding and I finally narrowed down the culprit; the suspension seat post. As the post compressed it would allow my leg to remain bent on the down-stroke which eventually led to sore knees. That being said I am a Clydesdale and I was putting a lot of weight on the post. I cranked the adjustment screw inside the post as far as I dared essentially turning my suspension seat post into a rigid one. Since then my knee problems have virtually disappeared.

No... it really isn't. But i've taken care to ensure that the fork and seat suspensions are stiff enough to work in my favor, for the type of riding that I do on this hybrid. They are fairly stiff, for the most part, (I don't like the feeling of my front fork bottoming out when I break for example, so I've made the proper adjustments) but they provide enough shock absorption for spirited light off road or unpaved riding.

I had one - it came stock on my Specialized Globe Sport Disc, and I found that it would move left and right on the horizontal axis slightly - VERY annoying. However I wouldn't discount them completely, I'm sure a decent quality one would be ok - however I can't be bothered with one now!

I have pics of my bike elsewhere on this forum but I thought I should post some here too; after all my bike was advertised as a "Hybrid".
It's a Schwinn Hydra that I bought last spring. Recent changes include the PB Cascadia fenders, Schwalbe Marathon Winter studded tires, Ergon GC2 grips, and sealed-bearing BMX platform pedals. I recently tightened up the suspension seat post to negate its travel and replaced the wide saddle with an old MTB saddle that I had lying around. I have a new Terry saddle coming in the mail (my Xmas present to myself). I have been very pleased with the bike's performance to date and it is tuning out to be a competent winter commuter.

no room for another bike and still in love with my sirrus pro 2007. if i could squeeze in one more, the hooper would be it. disc brakes, internal gearhub, subtle paint job. carbon fork and seat stays would have been nice, but hey, i take the baby as it is.

Forth Worth is a far ways from Bloomington, Indiana. I guess alot of stone cutters are breaking away from Indiana this time of year. My papa, he says it is ... how you say .. so cold.

That 7.5 FX Is an excellent machine! Take it easy - in a vacant parking lot - how it handles and turns fast enough to make it dangerous. Unless you Take your time getting a hold on it in tight cornering.
Congratulations on you bike!
