On a slight detour of my usual "fitness" route usually taken on my road bike. Our city is into a lot or re-paving, leading to detours that are not fit for my road bike. Went 26/27 km in 71 minutes including a few red lights. Only about 10 minutes longer than the road bike on some pretty rough/slow sections.
Hybrid = 26 lbs (rack, panniers, heavy lock,etc) 700x35's @70psi / Road bike = 19.5 lbs( water bottle) 700x25 @ 100+psi.

Mill Creek
My dad and I finally buttoned down a time to ride so we left the house heading for the local MUP trail. Before we got the trail we stopped to watch some kids practicing on the local BMX dirt track, took the trail to Mill Creek, WA and then headed back for home. We made two more quick stops and finished back at my house. Since it was with my dad (in his early 60's with his first geared bike) we took it kind of slow...I actually enjoyed the ride since I could wear my street shoes and it was nice to just be out and about!

A recent ride to the lookout at the top of Shikanoshima, a nearby island connected by a narrow road to the mainland.
Took some photos but had to keep moving. The end of the rainy season is the start of the mosquito season and mozzies seem to love my out of date insect repellent.

The main road to the top had been recently resurfaced but the alternative route to a small shrine was the road less travelled. At first I followed car tracks through a slippery layer of green moss and mould but as I got higher the car tracks stopped and the moss turned into leaf mulch and mud. The only recent signs of life were wild pig tracks and an abandoned luxury car. Both good reasons to keep peddling.

Near the top, and the road got a bit medievil.

Out of the forest the creeping vines had turned the road into a path.

At the lookout. The strip of white sand in the middle of the photo is the connecting road.

Went down the hill to the opposite side of the island and found a place in the shade to eat my lunch.
Had the bike for a while now and will change to a road cassette when this one wears out mainly for the less clunky shifting. Also want to get my tool kit out of my backpack. Not sure if I should get a top tube front triangle bag or an under the seat bag. Both seem to have their pros and cons.

Just did Tour De Peninsula, it's my first ever ride. Elevation gain was at at 4k but I just kept going.
I had a few comments of my bike and how crazy I was for using it vs a road bike. Also I really don't have any cycling gear and I used a running shirt, shorts, and shoes (no clips).
I made a thread here on if there's something wrong with buying a "hybrid bike". Well in the end, there's nothing wrong with it and I did see other people with mountain bikes and not the best gear. As long as you can pedal you should be good. Of course I wasn't the fastest and no way I was going to compete.
Just pretty happy I finished!

Sunday I went out by myself on a 67km course...(the last few months I've been riding with a small group) and didn't enjoy it so much. Far too hot and got lost once. The scenery was incredible and much less hills and mountains to what I'm used to, just the weather conditions were crazy. Could have been worse, my group did a 220 km ride in the heat.
Anyway, this is mine...

Here she is all packed and ready to go...

The day before I did a quick ride up to Kibune which I didn't record on strava...

Last weekend I did a nice 122 km ride (but on road bike) and this pic should give you an idea of the surroundings. Beauty all the way. https://app.strava.com/activities/70325539

My wife and I rode to Batelle Darby Creek Park again. We enjoyed a pleasant ride through farmland. It's always fun. We can ride side-by-side and talk on some stretches of road where we are. My wife is pushing herself a lot more on recent rides. Today, she was pushing into a stiff breeze. She's getting stronger.

My wife and I rode to Green Lake to have lunch and visit our LBS to get some parts. A total of 10 miles. Run ride.

Finally got to do a little bit of riding today...I actually made 3 separate rides but this is my last around the south GA country side.
Soybeans on one side and Pecan Trees on the other.

Many Cemeteries out in the countryside!

And plenty of these small creeks!

I got to wandering since all the rains this summer if they just gave up on the road side mowing. It's like this everywhere!

Thanks! I've crossed that bridge on foot before. It wasn't part of the trail we rode today, and I'm not sure if it's bikeable.

I like this thread, there are some really interesting photos! I did a 41.45 mile ride yesterday (longest ever!), with, if Google My Tracks is to be believed, 4967 feet of elevation gain. My legs were burning when I got back home, and in the final 5 mile stretch I dropped to the lowest gear at the slightest incline. I really should stop more often to take photos, and maybe even carry a proper camera. Here is the sole photo from my ride yesterday - San Andreas lake in California seen from the south.
