Purchasing or making wheel disks

Purchasing or making wheel disks
Anyone ever have any luck making wheel disk's. I was looking into it and find coming up with a way of attaching them to you spokes less than desirable. The only reason I am interested in the is purely cosmetic I just think they look cool on the rear wheel. The production discs seem a little price & limited in style.

Wheelbuilder.com and be done with it.
That said though, covers aren't meant to be run full time. Even the competition ones say to remove for training rides.

Remember that wheel discs can adversely affect bike handling in crosswinds. IMO not a good idea for a bike used in all conditions.

Polo players use them to keep mallets out of spokes. I saw recycled election signs, with a candidates picture on them, being used when I happened by a bicycle polo game, which gave me the idea of putting a picture on your disc wheel. Don't know how they attach them. Zip ties probably.

^^^Yes,zip ties. Can be tricky to get the last one or two on. We did a group buy on corroplast to make wheel covers for our polo bikes.
They do suck hard in windy conditions. It can feel like someone is pulling on your wheel.

Have you played polo at the College Park site? I thought they were to be there every Sunday, but I haven't seen them the last couple weeks. Too hot? I saw one of your "2 Wheels or..." stickers on the rack in front of Saxby's.

I actually haven't been playing much lately because of work. I also missed the tourny we had up at CP. We normally play at the Rush Rink on 13th & D SE on Thursdays and some Mondays. CP is a little hot to play at due to the lack of shade.

If I saw that avatar spinning by, that would be a great training motivator to ride fast
