Redline Mono 9 question...

It's basically a 9-2-5 with riser bars, fenders and 1x9 drivetrain and 700c wheels...would this be considered a "Hybrid"? I don't know how to insert the link directly to the bike, but it can be seen on RL's website (www.redlinebicycles.com/).

Anybody here own one? If so,how's she ride and got any pics?

I'll be replacing my old Escort wagon come tax time (Subaru time ),and was thinking of buying one of these with some of the $ from selling it,to have a more road-oriented ride than either of my mtn bikes (1 SS and 1 29er).

Thanks

You're trading in an Escort for a Subaru and there will be money from that for a bike?

I don't see a 1x9 on the site you link to.

Buying the Sube for $2500 (all I would have to spend),selling the Escort to a riding bud for $500-550. Actually,I mis-typed the header, the Mono 9 was replaced a couple/few years ago with the d440 (which is my primary mtn bike),and is a mtn bike...I meant to say "Metro 9",it's under the commuter link from Redline's homepage, and yes in fact is a 1x9...but you're right, there is no 1x9's anywhere I'd mentioned,if you din;t know where to look,LOL!

Yeah, I'd have to class it as a Hybrid, heavily leaned toward commuter use.

That was kinda my thougts as well...just wanted to hear it from someone else to confirm it

I had been strongly planning to attempt a purchase tax time, but I may invest that $ into a refurbishisng into an Xtracycle equipped 2000 Trek 6000 (that's strung all over the shed awaiting a rebuild...someday,LOL!) I dunno yet. Depends on how much I have to blow.

Thanks
