Is there a way to find 2009 model bikes?

I am interested in buying a Trek FX 7.9. The problem is I do not want the 2010 model but the 2009. I am interested in saving a few hundred dollars.

This is a general bike question in my mind. Does something exist out there- some will say "the internet"- but i have yet to find a site that can give me inventory or possible inventory of a make/model of any bike. i know the idea is to "support the local shop" and i am fine with that, but i would like to know if my local shops even carry that kind of bike.

can anyone guide me to something other than global craigslist search or ebay?

Bikes: Tons

Call around to the local bike shops. Some of them will still have an older model or two in stock.

Well, it is April, 2010...finding a 2009 in stock anywhere is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack. Heck, around me finding a 2009 in September wasnt even easy! Unlike car dealerships, bike shops dont tend to order more bikes than they can realistically sell within the given year. When they DO have extras, they tend to put them on clearance when the next years models come out.

But I agree, call every single shop in the distance you would travel to save a few dollars. There really is no other way.

Good luck in your search!

Bikes: 2008 Trek 2.1 WSD, 2010 Specialized Amira Elite, 2011 Trek Madone 5.2 WSD

Your local Trek dealer can look up the inventory for you. Just did it today for a specific Navigator my husband wanted.

Yeah just go to your local dealer or LBS, I'm sure they'll have some of last year's models. I got my bike super cheap because it was a 2009, and they were clearing out to put the 2010's out! Doesn't matter to me if its a year older model lol
