GT Tacyon and traffic?
Anyone here own one? A certain "bike wholesaler website" that causes quite the debate on here has the Tachyon 3.0 for $399 and the 1.0 for $799 . Also has the Traffic at three levels as well. I was surprised to see GT on their site, and I like the Tachyon, anyone have a 3.0?

It was between the trek 7.5 and the gt tachyon 3.0 when I was purchasing a bike a couple months ago. Those where the two bikes my LBS had in stock that were both similar to what i was looking for. Test rode them both extensively. I was leaning towards the tachyon simply because it was cheaper and growing up always had gt bmx bikes so i was typically familiar with gt quality. But I have to say after test riding them both I felt the trek just felt so much smoother and all around a more solid bike. They both had carbon forks and similar components but I ended up spending a little more on what I felt was a more solid feeling bike. But then again try all kinds of bikes go to every bike shop you can and test ride EVERYTHING!!! Before making my purchase I went to about 10 different bike shops and test rode everything from road bikes to mtbs Try to stay away from buying a bike online unless you test rode it first because you might not be fully satisfied at the end of the day.

At the price range you're looking to get it at I don't think the competition is as good. It is definately a nicer bike than a 7.1 fx or something like a Quick 6. A Trek 7.5 fx better be nicer than it considering the price difference.
If you have a Performance bike shop by you, you can test ride it and if you like it the extra $50 might be worth the peace of mind as I also recieved lifetime adjustments with the bike. I'm no Performance fanboy or anything but I've just been real happy with them so far and I am not the easiest customer to make happy
