First two rides of the year!

Well, I haven't been on here much as of late. I bought an exercise bike back in early March, and have gotten into home-brewing (talk about negating some of my gains...TOTALLY worth it!) Not sure if or how much weight I have lost, but jeans fit a bit better and I feel better, so that is most important really.

It was a cold, rainy spring here in upstate NY. Being so, I stayed inside and rode the exercise bike. 3-4x a week, 30 minutes at a time. I also changed my diet a bit.

I got out Saturday for my first ride, 9 miles averaging 12.7mph with rolling terrain. Not bad! Got out today for the same 9 miles, about 12.5mph average today, wind kept changing direction on me, and legs were still a bit tired from both Saturday and all the gardening yesterday. Feels a lot nicer to get outside, and ride my awesome Sirrus!

By the way, the home brewing is going wonderful, first beer was an American wheat that is finally carbed good and taste great! For LESS than the price of Budweiser I can drink a much more flavorful beer. 48 beers for $25. I have a Porter fermenting currently, Can't wait for that one. I actually want to exercise more now so I can enjoy more beer

Be careful about this; I had to spend a week of beautiful weather off my bike because I just couldn't make myself take a break when my legs needed it. I'm still working up my strength, and it's been more than two weeks since.

Just wack and few beer's in your drink holders while you ride that'll dull the pain.
