I know that a Schwinn bike pump i had was a piece of *** and it broke on me last week at a time that was a real pain in the ass. That is my only comment on the Schwinn brand , sorry for nothing more constructive

I am currently riding a Schwinn High Timber that I picked up several years ago at Wal-Mart for $175.00, and, outside of being a little heavy (steel frame), is a pretty decent starter bike. I've heard that Schwinn makes both entry level bikes and bike shop level bikes. I think the Searcher Comp falls into the latter category. I'm not experienced enough to know for sure, but the components look pretty good.

Diamondback Insight has very good write ups on line, and the only negative I found when looking at them last year was wheel spoke failure issues. If you aren't big and don't do stunts you are prolly fine. I actually owned one for a month before beginning upgrade and replace mania. Fine riding bike for the price point.
I actually thought Diamondback discontinued them, as the one I got was on closeout. Got it through Dick's as well.
