Split between two bikes...help!

Hi All,

After lending my old GT Avalance to a friend and him getting it stolen, I have some cash to buy a new ride. I used to be purely a forest rider but havent really done that much since moving further in to London and now do a cycle commute of 8 miles and some weekend light trail riding with my girlfriend.

I have around £800/$1250 to spend (God bless the cycle to work scheme!)

I'm really split between two bikes now. I have test ridden both and like both.

The Cube Nature - https://www.cube.eu/en/tour/country-l...lack-grey-red/

and

The Trek Montare - https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...eries/montare/

Anyone have a preference here? I can find very little on the web about the Cube...but plenty of great reviews for the Trek....HELP!!!

Cheers,

Paul

I'd forget the suspension fork unless your light trail riding includes a lot of loose, uneven or downright bumpy surfaces. How about a Trek 7.5 FX Disc? https://www.trekbikes.com/uk/en/bikes...fx/7_5_fx_disc

I'll be riding on ground like this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/47231510@N07/5539794977/

Mixture of grass, gravel, leaf litter, bridal paths etc.

I would look at the new Trek DS line for 2011.

Bikes: 2017 Colnago C-RS, 2012 Colnago Ace, 2010 Giant Cypress hybrid

Between the two, the Cube has the better components in my opinion.

Hi All,

Just bit the bullet and put a deposit down on the Cube. XT components just won me over.

Cheers,

Paul
