A good deal?
First post here, and just recently back into cycling...since I haven't really ridden a bike since high school (now a PhD student). I was shopping around for a new hybrid, was looking at the trek fx 7.2, the fuji absolute 3.0, and the specialized sirrus.
However, they're all out of my price range (don't become a grad student if you like having money
), so I've been keeping my eye out for used bikes on craigslist. I found a 2009 Specialized crosstrail sport this morning. Did some quick research and liked the consensus that I'd be able to take it out on some light trails (which wouldn't be ideal terrain for say...a sirrus or the fx 7.2). I don't care much about the extra weight, and reviews claim that it goes decent enough on the road too. I'll be using it mostly for commuting to school and riding around town...also am interested in some trail riding.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. The seller wanted 280, and I got it for 200. Frame and wheels appear to be in great condition. It's missing the front wheel quick release pin. The breaks seemed a bit spongy compared to the new bikes I've tried. Some components (ie - chain) have some rust, but I'd say rust is pretty minimal overall.
What do you guys think...I'll take some better pics when I get home.

That is a horrible deal! Why, for $100 you could have gone to Olive Garden 2 or 3 times. Alone. If you didn't get a drink.
Great Job! It will be worth more than every penny.

Very good find. I think you will like cycling as it isn't like the old days anymore.
