Stem adapters

Hey everyone, i have a mongoose xcom bicycle but online they dont have any dimensions or specs on this bike. I wanted to know if i could mount any size stem adapter and stem onto my bike? I dont have any pictures of my bike to put on here but if anyone knows if stem adapters are all pretty much the same, thank you.

Adjustable stems/stems comes in either 25.4 mm or 31.8 mm that I've seen. It is said that newer bikes usually comes with 31.8 mm and older bikes with 25.4 mm. So it is better to know what size your bike will fit or came with.

My bike is a 2007 i think, so it would most likely have 31.8. Ill just go to my local bike shop and ask if they would know. Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure all threadless stems are the same diameter. The only difference is where it clamps to the handlebars. It's either 25.4mm or 31.8mm and it's pretty easy to figure out with a tape measure through the process of elimination. If you take your bike into a bike shop they can tell you what you need. IME, you may need an extra small spacer if you swap the stem out
