Is it a simple switch? Or do I need to swap out the wheel also? Is the speed going to be significant enought to get it. Planning on riding with some roadies and I just don't want to be dead slow lol.

What size wheel do you have? If it is 700c it will fit. If you are coming from much wider knobby tyres, you may notice a speed increase.

Yes they're 700cc tires. The stock wheels for the fx are 700x35.

The 20 & 23MM are definitely too small. Your rim will be wider than the tire.
The 25 is probably pushing it.

I was going to go with the 28's.

It all definitely depends on the wheels. My bike came with 32mm, but will hold 23mm easily, provided I swap the tubes.

IMHO, go for the 28's, I tried 25's and they rode harshly, went to 28's, seemed the same speed wise but handled the road imperfections MUCH better, YMMV!
