Bike Ordered - Now the Wait
After a couple of months of riding a borrowed bike and researching to see what I thought I wanted, I finally placed an order. At first, I thought a Giant Escape was the one, but it did not feel right when I rode. Then I decided on a Specialized Sirrus Sport, but the LBS convinced me a need a bigger frame size than is available. I finally ordered the Trek FX 7.3. I rode a couple of these and really like it, my reason for not going to this initally was that everyone has an FX and I like to be different. LBS convinced me it's better to have a bike that fits, I can personalize it to be different.
Now for the long wait for the bike to come in and be built. Shouldn't be more than a week or two, but I want to ride now.

Best of luck with your new bike -- and I hope it arrives quickly...
One good thing is that it will be coming in during the slow season -- so they will be more likely to have to time to assemble it correctly and get eveything adjusted properly. But, no person, no LBS, and no bike are perfect -- so if (when?) you find it out of adjustment, take it back. Or, if there is a problem with the bike -- Trek has outstanding warrenty coverage...
But, all that aside: it sounds like you were fortunate to find a good LBS. They could have simply taken your money by selling you anything you would buy. But instead, they took the hard road and pushed you into a bike that would fit you best.
So, happy trails to you! And, congratulations on the new addition to your household!

Good luck with your new bike! it's such an exciting time..
I ordered my bike last Wednesday I think and it came in Tuesday... but I don't get to pick it up until later today. (I'm at college and the bike came in back my girlfriends families LBS...) My Gf's family is meeting us at the beach with her new bike and mine I'm so freakin pumped!
I wish I could say the wait isn't bad and the time flew by but it's all I could think about.... which made it painful. But the day of is very exciting!
Once again good luck and post pics

I ordered mine and they had it in a warehouse nearby, came the next day, tuned up, got it 2 days later. I have a Trek and I love it. No regrets whatsoever. I mean it is definitely one of the best brands out there.
