Schwalbe Big Apple
Hi,
My trek 8.5 DS is currently sporting a Schwalbe Furious Fred tires and been using it for four months on pavement and off road. The tire wears out fast and I think two months from now it will be totally scraped. Anyhow, I think its about time for me to search for a tire that is dedicated for road use. I've heard a lot about the Big Apples which is really good for road use.
However, the tire has a 28 x 2.35 size and quite hesitant to pull the trigger since I have no idea if it would fit.

The RBW website shows the 700 x 50 Big Apples as being less than 45mm wide, on an unspecified rim. I thought about putting them on my Trek (tech manual says 41mm max tires) and did the measurements and the biggest issue was the bolt holding the front derailleur on the seat tube. I think they would have fit but it was close enough that I didn't want to risk the money it would cost to buy a set.
If yours fit, let us know what you think of the tire.
