First Time here-Tire question
I ride a road ,a hybrid, and a tandem but today's question is for my hybrid. It is a Giant Escape. Just came back from riding Pittsburgh to DC on the GAP & C&O. Prior to going I switched out my road tires for some older Continental's with a more aggressive tread. Can't get to the bike as it is in the Amtrak bike box having just arrived home at 4AM today.
I am needing to replace these tires as they are pretty beat. Had to use 2 tire boots when I got to DC. HAd 3 flats in the last 5 miles!
I would like to stay with Continental, so what tire would you guys suggest?
Thanks!

The Gatorskin are pretty good in skinnier hybrid sizes (28c wide?), or the TouringPlus in 28 or 32mm...
for anything other than full out mountain biking, you really want a tire with MINIMAL tread. bicycle tires don't need rain grooves as they can't hydroplane (even the fattest bike tire will push the rain aside), and tread just reduces the amount of rubber touching the pavement. a full slick would be optimal.

I have had Nimbus in x38 and currently x35, and find them rather heavy riding (I don't mean weight, I mean the 'feel'). I'm thinking my next tires will be Continental TouringPlus or Schwabe Marathons in x32.
I really liked the old Ritchey Tom Slick in 700x38, that tire rode like a proper gumwall road bike tire, but they are no longer made in 700c sizes.

Gatorskins or Gator Hardshells are good tires (Hardshells have better sidewall protection.) I'd go with 700x32 Hardshells since Continentals run 2-3mm narrower than their posted size. I ran 700x28 Hardshells on my road bike and was happy with their flat resistance and low rolling resistance.

I'm a +1 on the Bonty hard cases, I rode some about 4 years back (mostly in plhiiy)... very nice ride and very durable.... not so great in the rain... but few are. Nothing against gatorskins (And I have had a coupe of pairs), but I think the 700/28 is a bit skinny, more like a 700/25 . Never rode the hardshells.... a nice tire in the 700/32 range.... Not the touring but the 'Contact' https://www.biketiresdirect.com/produ...l-contact-tire
Should have gotten those vs the Nimbus I just put on my Absolute..... live and learn

Done 10 miles since last post about the Bontrager RL Hard case tires. I gained a little over 1 mph no my time, and today with pedals and shoes, added another 1mph. Tire is very solid feeling on turns, straightaways, and not too bad taking bumps.
