Wow you guys are good! Yes it is the hanger insert. I am very mechanically inclined, and I could tell right away that it was made to break to protect the frame. So that one on ebay is the one for my bike? I think I'm gonna get it tuned up at a shop, after i put it all back together. I'll still post some pics but I was busy playing Diablo III all day. Maybe tomorrow.

just fyi, typically, you use a chainpunch to seperate the chain, its usually easier than taking the derailleur apart.
my solution to a bent cheap derailleur is to buy a better one
I'd probably replace a tourney/acera/altus with an alivio.
oh, re adjustment: see... https://techdocs.shimano.com/media/te...9830604153.pdf under "SiS Adjustment" for how to set one of these up.

so I forgot to mention, I don't see a part # or any identification on this part. How do I know what to get? From what I could see on ebay it is called a derailer hanger. I went on raleigh bikes webpage and found no section for parts.

yeah, what he said. you look it up online by the bike model. you have a Raleigh Misceo, right?
this is a fancier one thats CNC machined out of high grade aluminum. https://wheelsmfg.com/derailleur-hanger-38.html
but the cheaper one Shofine links is probably fine.

Ok, so I was ready to set it all up and then the rear wheel wouldn't free spin. It was like the gears were locked in place so the pedals would always spin no matter what. I took it to the bike shop and it was just some plastic peice that was in the way. I told them to just give it a tune up since I knew I would be riding it on almost a daily basis. Now it works great! I thought the $80 for a tuneup was a bit expensive but now it works and rides perfectly and I am going to keep it indoors so nobody can take it. Thanks for all your help guys! $280 total for this bike isn't bad at all!!!!
