Hybrid using arms and legs
Hello all,
This is a little different kind of hybrid I designed and built, it uses your arms and legs. It is challenging, but also a rewarding workout. The website has some videos showing how it works. Just proto-types for now, what do you think? David

Me,
the levers turn an upper sprocket that adds torque to the rear wheel. You get about 10-20% increase when you use them. The website has a couple videos, the second one shows more on how it works. Korbike.com
The fairings are getting replaced, hopefully a little cooler look. Thanks

I just briefly looked at your website. I assume the idea is to increase speed and get an arm workout in the process. As far as the speed goes, for the type of riding I do I generally feel like I’m already going fast enough for the road conditions. I’m also not sure the weight increase and extra drag wouldn’t offset the speed benefit. I can’t put my finger on it exactly, but I just can’t see myself being interested in the collateral arm workout. Finally, the setup looks somewhat complicated with lots of moving parts. One thing I like about bikes is their relative simplicity. However, it looks like a clever idea. I wouldn’t mind trying it before making a final judgment.

bikecrate, thanks for checking it out. Speed is the first thing people focus on, but the main reason to ride the bike is to get a balanced cardio workout. Its a fitness bike, not really meant to compete with bicycles, it accelerates faster only because of the added torque. Your heart can only do so much, so you will burn out faster. I ride it for about 30-40 min 4-5 days a week. For me its a way to stay fit. I enjoy riding and when I finish I like to know that my upper body got as good a workout as my legs. Right now the fairings are getting re - worked to enclose some of the moving parts and get a thinner look. They are just proto-types. I'm in the process of building a few more so other people can ride them. I'm located in Southern California if your in the area or visiting, the bikes always available so you can try it out. Thanks again, great forum. David

giant, sorry it looks that way. Other than an idea, I'm a long way from having anything to sell. I did read the FAQ but I missed that part on sig links and Premium, my apologies, still great forum. David
