Bikes: '06 Kona Smoke

Plugging "Raleigh SC40" into the search box on Bikepedia reveals that this model was made from '02-'05. MSRP back then was under $350... so my guess is that $250 is a bit steep.

However, CL prices tend to vary widely based on location.

Pretty steep, but it looks like it's a bike store so you're paying for the 6 months of "free" tune ups as well as the bike having been tuned up already. I think it's worth it if in fact that's true as you'd most likely pay $100 to have it tuned yourself.

this bike would be for my wife, so tomorrow we will probably go and take a look at it. In the mean time I also found this other one on the same area. https://tallahassee.craigslist.org/bik/3862018431.html it is a mountain bike, but for a little more we would get a new bike. Opinions?

I prefer the second bike if you are going to do some off road riding. If it's bike paths and streets then I would continue looking for something with a rigid front fork.
