Correct platform pedal width (too narrow?)
Edit: Sorry, I had searched for wide platform pedals, platforms, pedals with no real results. I finally searched for "wide feet" and got what I needed. i think I am going to give the Wellgo mg-1's a shot (price is a factor).
Hi all...on my new to me bike, the previous owner had metal platform pedals that grip the foot well, but are a little narrower than usual. Due to a bunch of reasons, I have some knee issues going on (working with a PT). This got me thinking...could the width of a pedal have an effect on knees, or just overall comfort and technique? It's a hybrid, and I only use it to commute, so I'm wearing running shoes or merrell's most of the time, and I have a pretty wide 11.5 size foot.
Just curious on if anyone has had width issues with pedals and if wider foot=wider pedal for better comfort, as I'm looking to make things as easy on my knees as possible. Thanks!
