new hybrid, i like it!

I have been a road bike rider for years, but lately have been wanting something that i could hop on and tool around town, perhaps ride to work, and hit a local rails to trails ride.

A GT Zum popped up on clist and I picked it up. A really nice ride for the money. Single front chain ring and no front derailleur makes a ton of sense for this type of bike. Rigid fork. Almost everything else in this price range has a crappy suspension fork. It has 26 inch wheels, I wanted 700c. It looks as though there may be frame clearance if i want to upgrade.

I took it for a 10 mile ride around town and it was quite fun to slow down and just ride. No cleats, no lycra, just ride around and wave at people.

Frame size is a bit odd. I ride a 56cm road bike. This frame is an xl and it fits fine.
