Need help :)
Hi. I am looking to buy a new bike. I live in the city, so I will use it to ride on pavement.
I found cannondale bad boy 9 and quick 4 for 450euros (new). But also..i found a guy who is selling
cannondale qucik cx1 (1 year old) for 580euros. And I don t know which one to choose. I am likely to buy those cheaper
bycicles, but i heard that 580euros for cx1 is very good price. But I am not sure because quick cx1 is a little bit more MTB
and that is heavier.
So, I would be very happy if somebody could recommend me bycicle and to give me some facts, beacuse I know very little
about bicycles

Hi Stefan,
All the bikes you mention can be found online with details and reviews too. They each have their differences so it's hard for anyone to say which is better for you but given the prices you mention i personally would look between the badboy and the CX1. And yes, the CX1 price is good compared to a new price, but used..i don't know, you'll need to check.
If it is at all possible see if you can borrow a bike for a few days and ride the places you think likely you will go the most, a commute run etc and see the terrain. My commute goes mostly cycle paths, alleyways and residential roads and i am very glad of the front suspension, when i turn it off it's a hard ride. But maybe your council is better than mine at repairing roads etc !
Best of luck.

The CX1 is basically a Bad Boy Ultra with different paint and wider tires. It's got nicer parts than the BB9,so if it's in good enough shape it's a better deal. You'll have to decide if it's worth more to you. Also, the biggest issue is which fits you better.

Well..I am from Belgrade (Serbia), so our roads one of the worst in europe
I am planning to drive my bycicle on cycle path and roads, but like I said our roads are very bad. For example we have cycle path, but there you can find holes in pavement, also we have a lot of curbs on which I will need to climb. So my main concern is how smart is to buy a bike (like bad boy9) without front suspension. But I don t want to have a MTB, because i really love cycling and love speed

Today I called to check CX1, and is sold

That's a shame about the CX1. I can only tell you what i have found personally so is it possible for you to try the bikes out or borrow a friends bike for a while?
It really depends on you and what you want, i like to go fast too but i don't mind trading off a bit of speed to be comfortable when i'm riding. I think the badboy would be capable of doing what you want, it would be for me, it's just the ride would be harder and the ruts and and holes in the tarmac would be tougher on my wrists and ..ahem.... you know what i mean im sure.
I really think you need to do what you can to try them out, there's nothing worse than learning you bought the wrong thing £500 too late!
