I just moved to toronto, and I would like to ride bikes after a long break since high school time, I am in my 30's and I was comparing the "Giant Escape City " to " Specialized BG Roulux 2". There is very little on the internet on the Roulux and its also in a different price range but I found a discounted piece for $760. I need the bike to commute on nearby errands upto 5 to 6 miles, but I would also love to bike for longer distances, I just wonder if I am in the required shape for that. Anyhow would anyone recommend any of these bikes.

Of the two, I like the Escape City better on paper/monitor better for your stated purpose.

Of the two I have only ridden the Giant and mine isn't the city. But I am 61 and haven't rode much in 20 years. After less than a month 20+ miles is no problem on my Escape. I feel it is a great bike for the price.
