Comaprison- next step up
I have a 2003 raliegh c30 blue woman's bike. I was considering buying the cypress 2013 dx woman's bike but I do not know enough about bikes to compare and see if the giant is an upgrade.
Can you advise me.
I am 56. Want something i can ride comfortably for 20 miles
At the most. I want to take it mosy straight rode riding but occasionally some dirt
Paths. I dont want to spend more than 600.00.
I appreciate the comparisons on the bikes and any advice.

Giant and Trek for sure. I have four bike shops within 15 miles. Megacycle, Trek and Bike America are three of the stores which are nearby.
sirus ,specialized , cannondale, trek, giant for sure.

You did good, that is a nice bike...I hope you got a better price than the $659 MSRP...End of the model year... You don't have to say how much you paid...It doesn't matter, it's a nice bike...

$600.00 is good...The main thing is you feel good about the purchase and feel good about the LBS that sold it to you so they can help you in the future...

Thank-you. Your post made my day. I was feeling guilty oner the expenditure feeling that i should have gotten my 2003 raliegh c30 cleaned and looked at but this 7.3 is such a dream to ride in comparison.

I feel the same...It killed me to spend $600 ON MY CAAD8 but not that i rode it for over a month it now is sinking in that a cheap bike doesn't compare and from what i have found out is actually $600 is considered cheap in the bike industry unless you are comparing it to a Dept Store bike...I bought a brand new walmart Hybrid from my neighbour, ended up costing me only $17.00 yeah...Sold it the next day for $100.00...I rode it for about 1/4 mile and said HOLY CRAP it feels cheap...MyCannondale feels like a very high quality bike compared... I am replacing the wheels this week with a new SHimano cassette and added a new Forte Pro XFR saddle and the spending continues....That Trek will give you miles and miles of enjoyable riding....
You did keep the Raleigh right? get it tuned eventually and ride it also sometimes, it will make you enjoy the Trek even more...LOL.

Years ago I had a Bianchi racer. Sold it after my foot got caught in the pedal straps one day. Just wasnt for me. I know people spend thousands on a bike and i could see it for some people. Not for my needs though.

The main thing is you are happy...It makes a difference and motivates you to get on the bike i think if you feel a good relationship with the bike...Sounds funny but i feel really good or happy when i am on my bike...It looks inviting. So i take the invitation and go...LOL
