Fast and light step through?

Is there any out there?
My wife rides with skirts alot and I would like her to be able to keep up with me on my road bike on leisurely rides.

Searching the internet for hours I have come up with the specialized vita step through or the fuji Absolute 1.5 Stagger (not released yet)
Does anyone have experience with the vita step through at all... weight, speed, etc.?

I'm definitely open to any opinions out there.

She currently has a raleigh route 3.0 which is way to heavy and straight up riding.

I recently dated a girl with a regular Vita. She wore skirts and could "keep up" with no problem. She was super fit and probably was faster than me on the flats, but most people are. She couldn't ride down stairs though, and I outclimbed her but that wasn't the bike. The geometry is the same as the step-thru

I wouldn't recommend a 3spd to keep up with a road bike.

Any step through hybrid should do fine. There are also some performance folders you could consider. The lower frame height of a folder should work with a skirt.
