Dont know which to choose

Alright so Im a complete amateur when it comes to choosing a new hybrid. I've only recently immersed myself in the biking world and there is so much I dont know. Anyways, Im looking to buy a hybrid to be able to commute and exercise. I cant really spend over 350 so I tried narrowing down my options to these three bicycles. The only problem is, I simply dont have the knowledge to be able to tell which is the best between them. Thank you so much for your help and understanding!

If anyone has some other bike suggestion, im all ears!

if you want suspension, then i guess schwinn is the only choice.

if you do not want suspension, then i would get the Fuji. I just recently bought a used version of the 2012 version of the Insight. i feel happy with it because i didn't know anything about bike when i bought it. but more and more that im looking into bikes. i probably wouldn't buy it again for the money i spent.

Fuji and insight have very similar components, i feel like Fuji's frame work looks better, if you look at the insight in person the bottom diagonal bar is really over sized. look kind of awkward and would probably adds weight. the price is cheaper.

i would use the Fuji for no suspension

Im sorry if this sounds stupid but would the fuji be able to handle being off pavement well without suspension? I mean I plan on riding the bike primarily on paved roads and bike trails but occassionally I have to bike off of smooth ground. So in that case, would it be better to go with the schwinn or am I being nonsensical?

Thank you for responding!

the tires on schwinn and the others are very similar 35c vs 32c. they have a bit tread *not truly road bike tires* these tires i would say can take a bit of dirt/small gravel/rocks.

i like the tires on my insight, awesome on paved roads. no complaints here.

i would go to the store, and look as all 3 in person. see which one looks the best, but overall these 3 bikes are in the same class. good luck man! *i'v always been drawn into white colored stuff*

Skip the front shock model. Unless you're really going to be doing something more than gravel, bad road riding it's not necessary. It will only add weight. The other 2 bikes are good entry level bikes. This also means the specs and tolerances aren't as exact as on a more expensive bike. Performance lets you bring the bike back after something like 30 days for a tune up so... get as much mileage as you can get in before taking it in for the tune up and have them check everything. My wife has an Insight and the bike really needed the adjustments soon after buying it. The headset loosened and all the cabling needed to be readjusted i.e. brakes, derailleurs. I do my own work so I did that at home, but it you're not skilled at it, take it back and have them tune it up.

Front shocks do add weight, but not that much. This isn't a road race bike but an all rounder. I have a Schwinn Trailway with the front shock and I like it. My town has lots of rain gutters in the road and that front shock sure is nice at keeping the jolts from hitting the hands and shoulders hard. Some of the Schwinns aren't bad bikes at all and they are inexpensive. My Trailway handles packed gravel and hard dirt just fine.

My wife ride the absolute 3.0 and loves it better than her Jamis Allegro Comp with suspension. We only ride paved trails, and the lighter Fuji is better suited for her with the 28mm tires

Hey guys! Thanks for all the responses and I think im coming close to a decision, but I did spot one more bike. So I was snooping around and I found this for 350 on the dot. I would love to know what you guys think about it.

seems like the Fuji is everyone's pick...i think its due to the 28c tires. and just happen to be cheapest! win win situation

Nice looking bike, should do the trick. You know, when I buy a bike, I tend to go for a lower cost bike or make sure i have money on hand for upgrades. My Schwinn hybrid, found out I didn't like suspension seatposts and flat bars. Replaced the post with a solid one and the bars for Trek bars. There always seems to be some fine tuning and parts replacing that goes on to get a bike the way you like it. Just keep it in mind.
