Matching woman's bike for 5'3"?
Hi, everyone!
Me and my girl just moved to San Diego and wanted to start biking around like everyone else in the city. Very bike friendly environment and tons of bike trails. So we decided to go with hybrid bikes.
We are newbies, tho I don't have any idea what and how and ....
OK, so i got this very good deal on a awesome bike. 2013 Scott SUB 10 with shimano alfine gears, carbon belt drive, shimano hydraulic disc brakes etc.
The thing is now we need a matching bike for my girl, but don't really have the budget and most likely i won't hit another deal on a bike like I did for me. She is 5'3". What frame size is best for her? And what will be the best bike for the money under or around $1k for her? Most likely I will have to go on craigs and try to find what You guys recommend for cheaper than a store price.
Please help!!!

Lots of people go down the I got an XXX and its great, but they wont be riding the bike. She will ..
Drop by some of SD's bike shops and take some test rides Taiwan makes most of the bikes anyhow ,
the brand is a contract with a handfull of big factories . often the differences are looks .. a parts pick by the Importers Product manager
pick a favorite bike shop First , then the bike they sell want different components than what came out of the factory box?
Just ask , interchangeable parts are as old as the Model T car.
want all this stuff
seek out the Scott dealer ,though the use of those components is not exclusive to Scott, its just the parts pick for that model .

I like my bike, tho I am sure components are all manufactured in Asia, but it is still a good bike.
But my bike is not the problem. Problem is, that we need a bike for my girl
Can You give me an opinion on a good bike shops in San Diego? But the most help will be if I know what size and Brand and model will be a good bike for her, so i can go online and read what people think about the bike. I do not trust stores on their opinions cuz they will do anything to make a sale.
I am also in motorcycles and i have very bad experience with dealers. Someone needs to prove me wrong in what i think about salesmen before i trust one word they say.

First, careful asking about frame size. One manufacturers 15" (or whatever) will be completely different from anothers. Even model to model within a brand the seat tube length isnt too meaningful. That aside folks might be able to make a general recommendation of a size or two of a specific model based on height.
Your lady may or may not get hung up on getting a women's specific model. Lots of very polar opinions on the subject, but speaking strictly for my wife, WS has always been a must.
Your Scott is basically a nice rigid front hybrid. There are tons of great bikes in the kilobuck range, which to me is a sweet spot: you've left the entry level behind but arnt into crazy high end. Trek's FX series (available in WSD), Giant Escape, Specialized Vita are all mainstream examples of popular bikes of that type.
