Advice on tyre presure.

Hi,

Im after some advice on tyre pressure.

I am a new and just picked up my first tidy bike, its a Specialised sires comp disc. Iv just come back from a its first spin, a 20 mile route on a cycle path near bye. It was great, but I'm nervous about the tyre pressure.

Iv only been on mtg tyres until now, and not been worried about pressure.

The bike shipped with

Specialized Espoir Sport, 60TPI, wire bead, double BlackBelt protection, 700×28c

the guy in the shop said they would be fine for the type of riding i want (cycle paths mainly to lose weight as I'm 20 stone)id this accurate?

The guy that set the bike up put them at 100 psi and said to keep them there, is this the best for my weight do you think? when I'm on the bike I can see a little spread where it makes contact is this normal? or should i try them at a higher Psi?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Sounds normal.

According to Spec, your tires take 85-95psi. For your weight, with a straight blade alloy fork,I'd try 85-90front/95-100rear.

Just ride the tires until they're used up. I wouldn't be in a rush to upgrade unless you were switching sizes. Tinker with the pressure per the other replies.

Cheers,
