But alas?...I became very bored with the "One Route" in my area that was suitable for such a bike and even then "getting there" required traversing some very narrow and dangerous local roads that had no shoulder but lots of fast, careless drivers...it's a great bike but rapidly lost it's "daily rider appeal"...which is when I decided I needed something more versatile and then wound up going too far the other way (but couldn't resist) when I found this old full ridged Trek MTB some elderly retired gent had completely refurbished with new shifters, brake levers, rear cassette, liners, tubes, ritchey climb max tires and re-rigged the bike with all new cabling....then sold it too me for $120...told me he finds junked bikes and as long as they're made in Taiwan, Japan or USA?....he brings them home and fully refurbishes and tunes them just to give himself something to do and not go nuts...
and then I got the Crosstrail pictured above that's a mix of these two and better than either one for my local riding needs but enough about me...The internet is a powerful tool...use it...and when you see a great looking bike at what seems a fantastic deal?....research it.....and I think you would be best served by sticking with the major brands on the used market...such as...Giant, Trek, Specialized, Cannondale, Raleigh, Fugi, Bianchi, Motobecane, Scott...you get the drift...and don't be afraid of a 5 year old bike that's been well homed...that Trek I got for $120?...is a 1999 model Mountain Track Sport800....one of treks lower line bikes yet here it is 15 years later and it's still one heck of a nice ride!

Moral too the story?...Spend some patience looking and it could pay off big time in the long run!

Hope that helps and L8R, Bill.

Fuji bikes are ok, but the ones that I have ridden never felt as good as the sum of their parts.
A good rider bike is a Giant Cypress. Going upscale consider a Specialized Sirrus or Trek 7.2 or 7.3, or Giant Escape 2.0.
