Only need to pay/download once. I haven't played with it a ton (just did a couple rides then somehow got started on some sort of mission I couldn't figure out how to get out of, then got into iV as my alternative for rides when I didn't feel like Zwifting).

MyWhoosh graphics are not great. Adequate yes, but very bland and generic. I gave it a go and then went straight back to Zwift.

Huh, I'd heard they were better than any of the other apps. I suppose better doesn't mean good (and what I've seen of the new faces on Zwift seem like they're going backwards).

over the weekend i installed zwift on my much more powerful laptop that is actually a gaming laptop. my kid actually got me sort of hooked on a game and the graphics are really pretty darn good, people look like people, not cartoons. so fired up zwift and just looked around. the graphics are better than what i am seeing with my trainer setup but not much really. everything still look very much animated to me. sure, a little smoother but nothing realistic like what i see in a game i've been messing around in. keep hitting the wrong buttons too. too darn many buttons to hit. sort of miss the old pinball machines.

Did you turn up the graphics settings in Zwift as well? And what is the screen capable of? 4K? Most laptops don't do 4k because they are too small. My MacBook Air does 2560x1600. 4k is 3840x2160, which is what I have for my 27" Dell monitor. I set Zwift to full 4k. The M1 Macbooks are crazy fast, with fast graphics and it does it without glitching.

Hum, I just checked, and it worked on mine. Are you running on an Apple or a tablet, perchance? My 7-year-old Win 10 machine is still kicking.

MyWhoosh's imagery is less vivid, bright, and colorful than Zwift's. There are no fairy tale characters and no oversized or imaginary animals, plants, and structures, which I applaud. The vividness of their newer courses is more in line with the original Watopia (e.g., the Mountain route). I wish they expanded the route selection and kept everything in the same "world" with more spawning points.

Zwift on highest settings doesn’t come close to something like Cyberpunk or Baldurs Gate 3 in terms of realism of human faces though (and it doesn’t need to imho). The level they’ve got to is quite something.

@kcjc I tried it on my (intel) Macbook Air.

I normally run Rouvy on my Apple TV and 1080p TV, but ATV itself requires an active internet connection.

We have a Windows laptop around somewhere.

Yeah well that’s complete BS. I ran them back-to-back on their highest settings on a decent MacBook and Zwift has far superior graphics. MyWhoosh was like Roblox. At least Zwift has some nice modelling, decent graphic artwork and road textures. MyWhoosh Belgium world was just a few generic trees, buildings and blurry road texture. The totally pancake flat roads joining the “bergs” were also a bit of a joke. Maybe some of the other MyWhoosh Workds are better? I didn’t bother to look after my first experience.

I only tried the Belgium world in MyWhoosh. It was all just completely generic trees, buildings and blurry unconvincing road textures. The rider avatar graphics and animation were pretty awful too.

Zwift at least has some nice roads and scenery that looks like somebody actually spent some effort creating. Obviously it’s not photo realistic, but I quite like their animated style.
