Greetings from DFW

Hello everyone. My name is Mike. I'm 52 years old, live in Grapevine TX, (10 minutes from DFW airport) and started cycling at the beginning of 2014 so I'm relatively new. I ride a Trek Domane 4.0. I took up cycling as a way to get some exercise with low impact to my knees & ankles. Can't say that I'm the fasted guy around. Probably average in the 14-15 mph over a 100 kilometer ride.

Planning my first century ride this August at the Hotter N Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls, TX.

If it would just quit raining here, I could get some training in.

At any rate, I'm glad i found this site and really happy that there is a section dedicated to riders over 50.

Welcome to BF from Houston. I am having the same problem with the rain. I plan on riding the HH100 too. I would say look for my Texbiker.net jersey but 12,000+ bikers makes it like looking for a needle in the haystack.

Nice bike. Hope the rain lets up for you to get some riding in.

welcome to the forum. It is raining about as hard as I have ever seen rain here in the heights/montrose section of Houston. It is raining harder than it can run off into the street. I have about 2 to 3 inches of standing water on my flat cement parking lot at the moment. Lots of rain the last few weeks. Getting lots of roller time in.
