Mmm....hi!
I don't really do this kind of thing and I'm guessing this is the first forum I join in over 10 years.
I've been riding for almost 6 months, I'm 26 years old and I'm from México, I live in Boca del Río, Veracruz. I ride and old MTB Turbo Stern R24 since that's the bike that my father bought me when I was somewhere between 11 and 13 years old. That bike got taken away after I crashed it against a sidewalk while trying to jump it and failed miserably.
I got that bike back after asking my father because as things are now, it's super expensive to move around the city and dangerous since the public transport is in such a bad state. Sometimes the doors on the buses won't open or won't close, some might not have windows and have holes on the floor, sometimes the suspension goes or other kind of mechanical malfunction, sometimes the malfunction is human since there is no test for you to become a bus driver let alone training.
The city is not any better for a person in a bycicle and the road culture for pedestrians, drivers and cyclist is close to zero...I guess that's what makes it so fun for me! xD
I got into cycking because I wanted to save money; and I do just that, but after using it also for excercise and feeling my body getting fitter and me feeling way better and also happy because I ride my bike. I love my bike and I love riding it, it pisses me off when; for some reason, I have to take a taxi and I also avoid walking when I can...
I've been doing a ride of 20 km in and hour with my average speed being 23 km/h and my max being 51 km/h...
I guess that's all for an introduction...
