Hi, I'm a new commuter from Mount Lake Terrace, Wa. I ride the Burke Gilman trail from Lake Forrest Park to the Ship canal trail .....or most of the time drive to around the University village and get on the BGT from there and connect to the ship canal trail to work on the Queen Anne side of the canal.
If I ride the long route it is about 13 miles one way......shorter route it is 5 miles one way.
I used to bike everywhere in my teens and early twenties.....now I'm back on the bike because I want to get healthier for my family. I have a 2 year old and a newborn. I first started riding again because of car trouble and rediscovered the enjoyment and freedom commuting to work on a bike. Luckily enough I get to do most of my commute on a paved trail.
I find myself in a lot better mood at work and at home now.....both i think from the exercise and less anxiety from dumb Seattle drivers.
