New one from Spain, long time reader but decided to join...
Hello all:
Let me introduce myself here. My name is Alfonso, come from Spain, not a rowdy kid not an old curmudgeon.
In the low 40's (42 years). Some sunny day of 2010 bought what I've defined as a black and green anodized beauty with Aluminium soul: A Cube LTD Team hardtail (a.k.a: Bicha translation: Thing) and started riding in order to recover some fitness (and did it).
Bicha served me really well. Gave me lots of satisfaction, cramps and sometimes pain, sweat and blood (but came back for more).
Made two times 'El camino de Santiago' over her, and got the 'Fisterrana' and the 'Muxiana' (when you arrive to Santiago, you have the option to continue the journey to Fisterra or Muxia and get the additional accreditation - one of the two depending where you arrived).
Some guys of my group have hibrid or endurance bikes and trying to hang out on road with a MTB is futile. So decided to buy another bike to team with 'Bicha' on my outings and in November 2014 began looking for a second bike. Tested some bikes from friends (Trek Domane, Spec Roubaix and one Sirrus Comp along a Giant Anyroad 1).
At first sight fell in love with the Sirrus and the Anyroad was really close. So went ahead to buy a Sirrus but my model and size wasn't available for some months so I was almost forced to get the AnyRoad.
After some days with the Giant decided to make some modification to suit more to my personal riding preferences (well... maybe some people get their flesh opened when read what I did it but remember: My bike, my rules!). Ditched the hoods and horns and installed a flatbar (seemed to hear something ripping?).
BTW: Her nickname is 'Flacucha'. The translation is skinny.
Skinny got lots of pedal time lately. It allows me to do a placid outing with my sons and wife, bomb roading alone or in group, hang with the real skinny (evil) ones without crying for mercy.
