Cruising around in the land of tornadoes

Hello all,

I live in Oklahoma and just started cycling on August 10th.

I started with my daughter's bike one day (that I bought for 5.00 from the thrift store) then realized how badly it hurt my knees. I went to the store and bought my purple beast. Yes, it's just a cruiser with pedal breaks, but I am completely addicted now.

I use mapmyride and compete with other friends of mine that have 'real' bikes and I don't do too bad. I just keep telling myself that I'm building a lot of strength since I have no gears.

I try to get in at least 15 to 20 miles a day.

Thanks for the welcome 10 Wheels.

I usually go out in the morning before it gets too bad. I love Galveston, but it's hot there too. lol

I love it!

I'm night blind when I try to drive a car. I would probably end up with a concussion trying to ride in the dark, but I wish I could. Instead I do yoga in the morning before everyone wakes up.

EDIT:
Ahhh, you posted a pic in my state while I was replying. I was very surprised how many bike trails and bike friendly roads there are here in the city. I am loving it.
