Good Evening
Hey chaps, brief introduction. My name's Mitch, I'm 22 and living in Portsmouth studying law whilst working in car rental.
I'd consider myself to be quite the intrepid explorer. In 2013 I drove a 1.2 litre tin box car from here in Portsmouth to the capital of Mongolia. That's what really set off my adventure bug. Cycling-wise I'm not the most avid, which is why I've primarily joined this forum so that I can ask a heap of questions (and for a bit of shameless self promotion!!). In 2013 a friend and I did however manage to cycle unsupported from John O'Groats to Lands End. It took us 10 days, me on rust bucket I bought off Ebay for £100 a week before the journey. I must admit at the time I hated every minute due to the aching legs, arse, back, arms, neck, everything. However looking back I have fond memories and now my legs are itching to gobble up the miles on two wheels again. Which leads me on the the main reason I've signed up. This summer I'll be cycling unsupported from Portsmouth to Oslo, via Calais and Copenhagen, in aid of Parkinson's UK. In the run up I'll post specific questions and updates but if anyone has advice on route, where to stay, what equipment to take etc then my ears are completely open.
