Always digging for info
Hello! We are a bike shop in SF called Citizen Chain and we do a lot of researching older parts. We hope to bring some good info to the community and get some mysteries solved too.

Hope this is Sasha, I met you on Facebook when I still visited it. I regularly wear my Citizen Chain t-shirt, that you sold me, "Rosebud Was A Bike" forever! Welcome to BF, good to have your shop represented here, be sure to check in at our Classic and Vintage Forum.

Hi All!
Yes, Sasha is still here. Mechanic and owner.
I am Niko, also handy with a wrench and owner.
Rosebud was a bike!
Quick summary since you mentioned it.
Herman had a bike. It was called Rosebud. It was stolen very quickly. He lost the trust of his parents and with it the innocence and happiness of childhood. Later in life he wrote the majority of the screenplay for a film called Citizen Kane. The main plot element is "Rosebud" in the movie. He used the name of his bike to add a personal touch to the sled in the movie that represented the innocence of childhood lost...

Hi Niko, I recall seeing your name at FB , when I was still participating there. No matter which CC person is here, glad that y'all joined in with us. I really got to order another t-shirt, my first Rosebud/Citizen Chain shirt is growing long in the tooth from being worn so much.
I get lots of questions about your shop, I just refer them to the web site. BTW, you need to update it some.

The Website! Oh do we ever. We've been repeatedly hacked. The interwebs are complicated....
We have expanded this year to include a second location across the street. The shop is bigger and better than ever. All the bits and pieces we had hidden and tucked are much more accessible and there is room to work! A little kid was riding in circles around the shop the other day and that was impossible before! So exciting.
Here are the current shop shirts.
