Need new bike.. but

Hi All,
2 weeks ago I hired a personal trainer and have been getting up just before 7 to do a 40 min cycle.
I am feeling great and loving the cycling. My wife is already

Im 6'1 and 135kg! So I need this. I was using a cheap bike from the internet (muddyfox) and I can feel I have ruined the crank (an RAC guy in the park just tightened it for me and its loose again straight away)

So I need a decent Mountain or Hybrid bike

The thing is, I need something STRONG that can handle my weight.
any suggestions on make? model. Im looking to spend up to 400 pounds really.
250 spend would feel better on the wallet.. but there is no point if it wont last.
thanks

I don't know any bike that would be good for you but I recommend you spend bit of money on a good wheelset with many spokes like 36 or more so you won't have to worry too much of loose/broken spokes.

Bikes like the Giant Toughroad or it's equivalents should do you ok. I was 105 when I started and the ally frame and wider tires gave me a lot of confidence. It's a ridgid bike so it won't wriggle around on you and the geometry is good for the road. I bought the SLR-1 but ColonelSanders bought the -2 and he weighs a lot more than you. Ask him about the seatpost if you get one.

Either way, go to the Hybrid forum, that's probably a good place to start.
