Hi from the Mitten
Hey everyone. New(ish) cyclist here. After borrowing my neighbors road bike occasionally for the last two years I was finally able to afford myself a new bike. I picked up an outgoing model of the Specialized Diverge Elite DSW. I was really looking at the new Diverge's but I couldn't pass up the deal I was offered on the one I got. Plus it was the one I had my eye on for two years. I also have an old Specialized Stumpjumper Comp M2. I really enjoy running (trails and road), I swim a few mornings each week and I just started back lifting weights. I also have an extremely addictive personality so I'm quickly realizing how fast you can spend money with cycling as a hobby.
I'm looking forward to learning a lot more about bike basics and I'm planning on doing a century ride next week before the weather turns here in Michigan. I also picked up a Tacx Vortex trainer so I can ride through the winter as well as on weekend mornings while my daughters are still sleeping.

Welcome to Bike Forums, MJStephens79! It sounds like you have a solid plan.
Addictive personality and Road Cycling... What could go wrong there? Seriously, I know exactly what you speak of.
Enjoy!
