Hello from Pa!
Hello All. I'm from Northeast PA. Currently, I have a Jamis Mountain bike that I bought back in 04. I absolutely love it and have no problems with it. I've been doing some research on road/"crossover" bikes and since I have not had any problems with my Mountain Bike, I decided to purchase the new Jamis Renegade Escapade. I have it ordered and it just came in today. I wanted something that would handle better on the road, but that I can take on some rails to trails (light off road) if I wanted. Hopefully, if the weather is nice next week, I will be able to pick it up. It will have to wait until the snow melts and we get a decent day before I take it out for a spin.
Looking forward to learning more about road riding, equipment, maintenance, etc!

Welcome, you are right where I am now. Last Sept I bought a hybrid bike looking for something just as you describe, for roads and light trails. Weather has stopped me since then and I am waiting for a warmer day to go out and try it some more. My only big complaint with my hybrid is the top tube is too short. I'm 6'0" and planned to lean forward till my back was about 45 degrees or so, not possible on what I'm finding, they all are so small I sit bolt upright. I probably should of held out for a bigger frame. I got a longer stem and that seems to help.
Any thoughts or insights you have in the light MTB/heavy road bike area, let us know!
