Hello from Boulder, CO
Good morning I've been riding casually for about 10 years but due to some recent knee issues I converted all of my running time to cycling. I picked up a cheap Diamondback commuter to do my rides to school and then found these forums while looking for info on a classic mountain bike ('86 diamondback ascent) I picked up via craigslist this week.
I have two more expensive bikes, a Felt F75 and a Marin B-17 which get lots of love, but lately I've become really focused on modifying and tweaking my commuter and now my Ascent. I found the forums by looking for serial number info on my new ride and was surprised to find a whole thread of people showing off their vintage Diamondbacks - Ha!
I love riding in Boulder - it's one of the bike-friendliest places I've ever lived (though it's far from perfect) and riding in winter here builds character.

Welcome from a fellow newbie! Had a chance to visit your state briefly this summer on a drive through and back from Montana, and it was very nice. I can see why cycling there would be so popular.

Welcome from NorCal! Take it easy with that knee, I myself have a back back and sometimes I get over zealous and do too much myself because of the excitement of riding.
