Hello Everyone,
My name is Clyde (uname: calypso50). Today I did a "maiden voyage" on my newly built frameset - after 11 yrs, 2 months, 4 days of no riding on a road bike...I'm 50 yrs old, in reasonable shape (considering my age and love for beer)...I raced Cat 4 in No. Cal. 11 yrs ago for Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club...I finished in top 20 for 2 yrs in a row...during 3rd season training, I was nearly killed by an SUV that didn't see me when they decided to make a left turn into the driveway I was crossing at about 30 mph (interval training day)...I don't remember that night...I woke up 24 hrs later in intensive care with a broken neck, fractured skull, and a very bad concussion...my mouth was destroyed (two rebuilds in the last 10 yrs)...amazingly, my neck healed on it's own without surgery...I thank God that I recovered to nearly 100% with arms and legs functioning normally...Aside from a stiff neck, I feel pretty good after that nightmare! I'm not afraid to ride again...I love it too much to give it up...anyway, if you live in the so. santa clara county and are looking for a riding partner, i'm working up to a nice brisk touring pace and hope to be ready for just about anything in the next 30 to 60 days...you can ping me at: calypso50@hotmail.com.
Best regards,
Clyde
