Newbie to buying used bikes and looking for some help with one I bought this week.

1997 Klein Adroit but found out after I bought it and got the front tire off that the front fork is broken. I didn't see the frame break when I looked at it (tires were flat so didn't test ride) and stupidly took the owner's word for the bike being in good shape.

Wasn't planning on spending a ton of money as all I wanted was a cheap used mountain bike in ready to ride condition.


Probably going to take a loss on it if I sell it, but looking for advice on what to do.

Welcome. Sorry to hear about your bike. Check with the guys in our Classic & Vintage forum about ideas for a replacement fork.

Oboy, that bike was the jammy jam back when the world was new.
Shouldn’t be too hard or too much to replace the fork. Check the downtube for any damage tho.

Welcome Robeyer, you might check out the Bike Pedlar for a replacement fork. Just half a block south of Maple St on 63rd. Look for the sign in his front yard. Good luck
