Howdy from NC

Hey friends, long time lurker finally making an account.
I'm in central NC, triangle region. Been riding bikes regularly about 2/3 years, still on my first and only one, a 1990 Jamis Explorer XR. I had help converting it to a 1x, putting some Paul breaks, adding a rack, etc etc. It's been a fun all-around bike, from commuting to group rides to mountain bike trails. I'm a fan of it all and enjoy having just the one bike to do it all with!
I was planning a ride to the coast (about 160 miles) a few weeks ago but now the temp is regularly in 85-90 range with high humidity, and I'm not too big a fan of that.

Looking forward to interacting more and learning from all of yall.

Welcome to Bike Forums. I find myself riding early in the morning on those hot and humid days!

Hi there, I lived in Malaysia many years ago and for part of the year, getting up at 5am was the only way to beat the heat if I wanted to do a long ride.
