Hello from So Cal

Been cycling for years but recently fell in love with older steel bikes.

Browsed through ads with the intention of getting a cheap bike for my trainer and ended up with a ‘93 Allez. Fixed her up a bit and wow, she felt smoother and faster than my current Fuji. I was so happy she didn’t fall apart on my first ride after I put her back together. Needless to say, she won’t be stuck in the garage like I planned.

Shortly after, I acquired 4 more older bikes: Fuji S10s, a ‘78 or ‘79 Motobecane Mixte, ‘79 Peugeot UO10, and an 82 Peugeot PH10S. It was a ridiculous price that I couldn’t pass up.

I’m currently overhauling the very rusty PH10S for the trainer and to hopefully build up my mechanical skills from this and each of the other bikes. Can’t wait to make ‘em all shiny again!

Thanks for reading.

Those old bikes are sweet - mine go back a'ways as well. I think working on them enhances the whole cycling experience. Enjoy, and welcome!

Thanks guys! After countless days of debating whether to repaint my current project and battling a fixed cup, I’ve decided to put it aside and start on my Fuji to get some Zen back.

Unfortunately, a seized stem has thwarted my plans.

The Kroil I just ordered can’t get here soon enough!
